Currently Loving 2 Week of 10-31-22

Welcome to Currently Loving 2. Can I be corny and say that I am currently loving my currently loving series? This week is Halloween, Day of the Dead and the beginning of November. Beginning a new month is always an opportunity to look back on what has happened this past month and where I want to be at the end of this month. Making a goal to focus on self care in November. Part of self care is this series, focusing on things that I enjoy and sharing them with others.

I will have more posts to follow on my November focus of self care.

Currently Listening

I am currently listening to My Favorite Murder podcast. This is the podcast that began my love for podcasts. Before finding MFM (My Favorite Murder) I would listen to talk radio like NPR and TED talks. Don’t get me wrong I still listen to these things, but my taste has expanded and I am finding a need for more distractions and entertainment in my life. MFM fits these holes for me.

I can listen to this while I work, while I drive and while I do chores. It makes it easy to fit this into my new life and routines as a working MOM.

MFM is a comedy crime podcast, hosted by Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark. These ladies have kept me company throughout the pandemic and my one year stint as a stay at home mom. I highly recommend listening to this podcast if you are a crime junkie, like me.

Currently Watching – Movies

I am currently watching the Hocus Pocus movie. I love Halloween and Halloween themed movies.

Currently Watching Movies 10.31.22

Hocus Pocus is reminiscent of my childhood. Ever since I could stream this on Disney+ I have been watching this movie from time to time. I know, it’s a little weird to watch Hocus Pocus in July, but you do what brings you joy. Now that it is October and Halloween, I am all for torturing my whole family in watching Hocus Pocus on repeat.

You can also watch Hocus Pocus 2 on Disney+, not as excited about this one as the original but sequels tend to do that. I will probably watch Hocus Pocus 5 times to the 1 time I will watch the sequel.

What movie do you like to see for Halloween?

Also, look at this cute Hocus Pocus T-Shirt I bought at Target. I’m not a big t-shirt person, but I break the rules for representing my favorite things.

Currently Watching- TV Shows

I am currently watching Love is Blind Season 3 on Netflix

I enjoy my love reality shows. There is something weird about us obsessing over other people’s drama, but it’s very cathartic to me. I can relax by watching other people’s problems, so long as it is with people that I don’t know.

This new season has been great, just like the previous two. I’m finding that this cast is more likable than before. NO SPOILERS but just like previous seasons, the cast struggles with the fact that they dated multiple people in the pods and then had to choose one.

Watch the Official Trailer for this season below.

Also, can I just comment on the fact that this promo photo looks like a telenovela. I think it’s Nancy giving the vibes and paring her with the cowboy guy, can’t remember his name right now.

For Currently Loving 2 I am loving these recently shopped items from Amazon and Target.

Joseph and Joseph M-Cuisine Single Serve Microwave Popcorn Maker

Now that you have some of my favorite things to watch and listen to, you can relax at home with this Joseph and Joseph M-Cuisine Single Serve Microwave Popcorn Maker. I like to eat popcorn but I don’t like eating the entire bag or the bad feeling I get when I leave leftover popcorn. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten leftover popcorn, unless it was kettle corn from the farmer’s market.

I bought popcorn kernels during the pandemic thinking I could make a ton of popcorn, but then I didn’t like the mess it made. Using a pot to pop the kernels is messy and eventually all of our pots were dirty. We are not good at keeping up with the dishes and cleaning in general. Reality, our house is messy.

This single serve maker has been great and I even took one to work. Not embarrassing at all to have a single serving of popcorn at my desk fresh out of the microwave.

Swedish Kitchen Dishcloths

In an attempt to chip away at the cleaning in our house I bought these Swedish Kitchen Dishcloths. I hate how stinky the kitchen sponge gets and I have yet to try other methods of washing dishes.

I will be honest these dish towels were advertised to me, thank you to the algorithm or Alexa hearing in our dishes problem discussion. But, dang it, the algorithm gets it right sometimes. So far, I have used only one of these from the 6 pack. The towel itself is super stiff so I find it best to use to clean up wet messes or to lather up with water and soap to wash them dishes.

Seleware Stackable Snack Container

This is another product that I was influenced to get. Tenley Molzahn recently posted her daughter using this on an airplane on her Instagram stories. I love cute snack containers. Baby, Hubby and I like to snack, so I saw this as something that we could use on road trips, local outings, or eventually on airplane rides.

Baby liked the shape of the top and that she could put her fingers through it. She can’t open the containers herself, but this is a plus right now because otherwise it would get very messy soon.

The container can be stacked short with only one container or in other combinations. It can easily fit on the side of your purse or diaper bag. I have yet to try if it fits in a cup holder, but I think it would only work for cars that have larger cup holders.

Family Matching Grinch Sweatshirt

Now that you have all your snacks ready, cozy up with this sweatshirt. We love the Grinch and have an emotional connection to a Grinch Christmas Sweater. My hubby wore one the day he proposed to me.

That sweatshirt is now 6 years old and needs a refresh. My hubby doesn’t know it yet, but I placed these Family Matching Grinch Sweatshirts on order for him, Baby and me. I love matching. We will all be little Grinches. They adult ones are currently on sale for $16.00, regular price $20.00. The toddler Grinch sweatshirt is $10.00 and the kid’s Grinch sweatshirt is also on sale for $12.00, regular price $15.00. Get yours before they sell out.

They also sold matching joggers, but that felt like too much for me. Hubby and I rarely wear joggers or sweat suits and they wouldn’t get much use.
